The Master of Ministry program is designed to accomplish at least three things for those presently engaged in church-related vocations. First, it provides the opportunity for continuing education in order to promote excellence in ministry. Second, it enables the pastor to evaluate his ministries and to design programs that increase the growth and effectiveness of his church. Third, it exposes him to a growing local church (Tri-City Baptist Church) in which these principles are being implemented.
The Master of Ministry degree is a 33-hour program, designed for the active pastor or Christian worker. This program consists of reading assignments in scholarly and professional literature, writing evaluations of related books, attending lectures, and interacting with fellow students. The courses are offered during one- and two week modules in winter and summer of each year. It is possible to complete the program in three years.
The purpose of the Master of Ministry program is to provide professional preparation to lead in church-related ministries.

Admission to the Master of Ministry degree program requires an approved Bachelor's degree. In addition, the applicant must have served at least 2 years in active ministry since receiving his undergraduate degree and continue in a ministry during the time of his formal study. Mature and experienced prospects without a bachelor's degree are eligible to participate in the Graduate of Ministry (G.Min.) program provided that they are approved. The student must have a GPA of 3.00 or better to graduate.
There are two phases to the program: reading assignments to be completed prior to the class time and the actual class time during which there is interaction on the basis of the material read. After the student has completed the course work, he will be required to pass the comprehensive exam as a capstone project.

In addition to the standard requirements governing all graduates of IBC, the Master of Ministry student must have a GPA of 3.00 or better. No more than 12 hours may be transferred into the program from other graduate schools. No more than 8 hours may be taken by video recording unless specially approved by the administration.
