Pastoral Emphasis

The Pastoral department provides students with basic preparation for ministry as well as background for advanced study. The program requires the following minimums:

Bible and Theology, 40 hours
General Education, 46 hours
Christian Service Core, 14 hours
Christian Service Methods, 26 hours
General Electives, 7 hours

The program is intended for those pursuing a ministry in the pastorate, assistant pastorate, evangelism, youth work, or church planting. The student who completes the program should demonstrate a working knowledge of biblical content and theological concepts, demonstrate a biblical philosophy of life, have an appreciation of the historical development of biblical Christianity, and be prepared to teach, preach, serve, and administer effectively.

International Baptist College, in agreement with I Timothy 3:2 and Titus 1:6, does not admit women into the pastoral training program.
