Graduation - May 15, 2010

May is always a busy and exciting time for those in school, especially seniors. Graduation is the target as they complete projects and finals.

International Baptist College's 27th annual commencement was held on Saturday, May 15, 2010 and fifteen students were honored as they reached their goals by completing various areas of study. IBC conferred the following degrees on the graduates of 2010: Associate of Arts- Caleb Finney; Bachelor of Arts-- Miguel Alfaro, Daniel Bushey, Katie Carlisle, Deborah Chovan, Anna Fosnot, Daniel Kelting, Krista Konves, Russell Loetscher, Eva Nicodemus, Rachel Smith, Gwen Struebel, and Erin Yazzie. In absentia, Josiah Wambua and Roger Willis received the Master of Ministry.

The International Baptist College choir performed Gloria by Vivaldi and Grace Has a Thrilling Sound by Professor Michael Bryson. This year's speaker was Pastor Dan Budgick from Desert Foothills Baptist Church in Tucson. Valedictorian Anna Fosnot shared a testimony, as did fellow graduate Daniel Bushey.

A five-year service award was presented to staff member Becky Stertzbach, and a ten-year service award was presented to Pastor David Brock, IBC's president, and his wife Tiffany. Several scholarships were also awarded to current students for the 2010-2011 school year. The Joseph Scholarship was awarded for the first time this year in memory of Joey Merrill. Joey's parents presented the scholarship to recipients Burley Gwaltney and Lupe Quevedo.
